After Care

Here I will explain you how to take care of your new tattoo :)

After our tattoo session I will use an adhesive barrier called second skin. It will protect your tattoo from germs, bacteria or clothing.

It also helps the healing process and  makes easier the aftercare.

Here are the steps to follow:

-Leave the second skin for 48hours, you can shower with it because is waterproof . After a few hours some blood or ink will appear under the second skin, don't be scared about it, it's totally normal.

-The best way to remove the second skin is under the shower by using lukewarm water and by gently pulling away the adhesive.

-Wash your tattoo gently by using a neutral soap and let it dry naturally or by using a paper towel.

Sometimes I would use plastic wrap, if the tattoo is very big , in a tricky area or if you had bad experiences with the second skin.

You should keep the plastic wrap for the first 3 hours and if you prefer place it again overnight. The morning after our tattoo session be sure to remove it and wash it gently under the shower by using a neutral soap and let it dry naturally or by using a paper towel.

After that I recommend to use a cream to moisturize your tattoo, such as Hustle Butter, coconut oil or shea butter.

If you're used to apply another different cream, just stick to what's best for your skin.

Be sure to use just a tiny bit of cream twice a day for 2 weeks , in the morning and before going to sleep. By using a thick layer of cream you tattoo won't heal nicely. Always wash your hands before applying the cream.

After the after care process, I recommend to moisture your skin regularly and to protect it with sunscreen :)

Other important tips are:

-Do not absolutely scratch or pick the scabs of your tattoo.

-Avoid sun exposure by using something to cover it (long sleeve shirt or bandana)

-Avoid contact with dust or pet's hair, that could lead to an infection.

-Make sure to use breathable clothing like cotton, don't use wool and synthetic clothing.

-Avoid intense work out, baths, sauna and swimming pool for the first two weeks.

-If you notice any irritation like redness or pain, be sure to contact me and if needed a doctor.

After a month or so, I would appreciate a picture of your healed tattoo! So I can check  if it healed nicely or if it needs a retouch.

If you have any question, don't hesitate to contact me by email.
